WABCO traces its roots to the Westinghouse Air Brake Company, founded in the United States in 1869 by George Westinghouse, and was spun off as an independent public company, WABCO Holdings, in 2007. It specialized in electronic and pneumatic braking, stability and suspension systems for trucks, buses and trailers, and was acquired by Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen in 2020, becoming ZF's Commercial Vehicle Control Systems division.
