VARTA is a German battery manufacturer whose roots go back to 27 December 1887, when Adolf Müller founded a Hagen-based accumulator factory that later took the VARTA name (from the German for "distribution, recharging and repair of portable accumulators"). It became one of Europe's best-known makers of car and other batteries, and after a 1970s–1980s corporate breakup its automotive and consumer battery business continues today as VARTA AG. (数据来源)
