Battery — BYD Seal U

The Blade (LFP) battery used in the BYD Seal U is inherently more resistant to accelerated degradation than older cell chemistries, but a few everyday habits still meaningfully affect how fast it loses capacity over the long run.

What's worth limiting day to day

• Frequently charging to 100% and leaving the car sitting fully charged — 80-90% is usually enough for daily driving
• Relying on fast DC charging over slower home AC charging when it isn't necessary
• Leaving the car at a very low charge for long periods, e.g. during storage

LFP chemistry is less sensitive to these factors than the NMC cells used in some competing models, but sensible habits still extend the cell's real-world lifespan.
