Battery — Jaecoo 7

The Jaecoo 7 Super Hybrid has two completely different batteries in the car — a large traction battery driving the electric motor, and a standard, small 12V battery powering the electronics, just like in a conventional petrol car.

Which symptoms point to which battery

• Trouble starting the engine, dim lights on startup — usually the 12V battery, a cheap and quick replacement
• Reduced range on electric power alone, slower charging — the traction battery, a far more expensive and rarely replaced component

The large majority of "battery" inquiries on hybrid cars are actually about the ordinary 12V battery, not the expensive traction battery.
