Depending on drivetrain, the Omoda 9 can have both a standard 12V battery powering the electronics and, on the plug-in hybrid version, a larger traction battery assisting the drivetrain.

How to tell the symptoms apart

• Trouble starting the engine, dim lights on startup — the 12V battery, a cheap and quick replacement
• Reduced range on electric power alone — the traction battery, which needs diagnosis at an authorized service center

The large majority of "battery" inquiries in practice turn out to be about the ordinary 12V battery.
