Boot mat — BYD Seal U

The factory boot liner in a BYD Seal U is usually made from a material that scuffs and stains easily — a boot mat protects it from damage, which genuinely matters for resale value a few years down the line.

What to consider when choosing one

• How closely it matches the boot's shape — a universal mat leaves gaps where dirt collects
• Raised edges — a lip keeps spilled liquid or loose debris from reaching the boot liner
• A material that's easy to hose down if you often carry muddy or wet items
