Brake pads — Jaecoo 7

"Pads" are just one part of the Jaecoo 7's brake system — they work together with the discs, calipers, and brake fluid, and the condition of each affects the others.

What to check alongside the pads

• Brake discs — a heavily worn or scored disc shortens the life of even new pads
• Brake fluid — absorbs moisture over time, lowering its boiling point and braking performance on a long descent
• Calipers — a seized caliper piston causes uneven pad wear on one side

Replacing only the pads without checking the discs is a common mistake — new pads on a badly worn disc wear out faster and can run noisier.

Our recommendation

When replacing pads on a Jaecoo 7, it's worth checking disc thickness at the same time — if it's close to the minimum, replacing both together works out cheaper than a second workshop visit a few months later.
