Brake pads — MG HS

Replacing pads on an MG HS is more than pulling the old ones and slotting in new friction material — it's worth checking the caliper slide pins and disc thickness at the same time, so the new pads don't wear unevenly from the first few kilometers.

What to check during the swap

• Caliper slide pin condition and lubrication — a seized pin causes one-sided, accelerated wear
• Disc thickness — new pads on a heavily worn disc shorten its remaining life
• Brake fluid level in the reservoir — it naturally rises once the caliper piston is pushed back in
