OE, OEM or aftermarket: choosing per job, not per policy

A warranty repair and a ten-year-old taxi need different answers. A simple decision rule for the counter.

OE, OEM or aftermarket: choosing per job, not per policy

There is no single answer to "OE or aftermarket" — there is an answer for a specific job. A repair under the vehicle manufacturer's warranty almost always needs documented OE parts; a customer paying out of pocket for a car past 150,000 km usually wants a sensible price-quality trade-off.

Our rule: for safety-critical parts (brakes, steering, suspension) we recommend OE or OEM. For cosmetic, non-critical parts (seals, handles, trim) a good aftermarket option is fine as long as the customer understands the difference.

Always state the quality level and the factory number on the same price line — the decision belongs to the customer, not the counter.
