A fog light is an auxiliary lamp mounted low at the front of a vehicle that produces a wide, flat beam with a sharp upper cutoff, in plain white or selective yellow light. It is designed for low-speed driving in fog, heavy rain, dust or snow, where it lights up the road surface and verges better than headlights, whose light tends to reflect off airborne moisture and reduce visibility.
