A headlight (or headlamp) is a lamp mounted on the front of a vehicle to illuminate the road ahead and make the car visible to others at night. Modern headlights use one of several light sources — traditional tungsten-halogen bulbs, high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps that create light with an electric arc, or increasingly common LED units — each offering different brightness, efficiency and service life.
