A wing mirror, also called a side mirror or door mirror, is an exterior mirror mounted on the side of the car that lets the driver see traffic behind and to the side of the vehicle, in the area outside normal peripheral vision known as the blind spot. Most modern cars mount these mirrors on the doors rather than the front fenders, and they often include manual or electric adjustment, heating, or integrated turn-signal repeaters. (Source)
